About Us

The Love Package Project is a Chicago based nonprofit organization that prioritizes acts of love as a means of shifting outcomes for Black and other BIPOC birthing families. The original Love Package Project was initiated in June of 2020 by Chicago Birthworks Collective as a Black mother centered mutual aid project that focused on providing individually packaged and curated care packages for Black mothers and families in crisis in Chicago. Since then it has grown into an organization of doulas and maternal health champions working together to demonstrate love for Black birthing people in unique and impactful ways.

Our mission is to enhance maternal health experiences and outcomes of BIPOC families through the exploration and implementation of culturally grounded, evidence based and alternative support strategies for BIPOC families during pregnancy and postpartum.

Building more moments filled with love for Black birthing people.
